("Tunas Group") was born as a family company called Tunas Indonesia Motor in 1967 as an importer and sales of new and used cars. In 1980, the Group integrated all business units under oneholding company, PT Tunas Ridean.

As the largest independent automotive group in Indonesia, 46.24% of PT Tunas Ridean (Tunas Group) shares are owned by Jardine Cycle & Carriage Ltd (JC&C).

JC&C is a Singapore-listed company and a member of the Jardine Matheson Group. It has a 50.11% interest in PT Astra International Tbk as well as other interests in Southeast Asia. JC&C owns automotive businesses operating in Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
